Rumors of Wars

Broken River Books has published a free sampler of their books which includes a chapter from Peckerwood as well as all their other titles: The Least of My Scars by Stephen Graham Jones, Street Raised by Pearce Hansen, Gravesend by William Boyle, XXX Shamus by Red Hammond, The First One You Expect by Adam Cesare, Incarnations by Chris Deal, The Fix by Steve Lowe, The Long Lost Dog of It by Michael Kazepis, Repo Shark by Cody Goodfellow, and Our Blood in its Blind Circuit by J. David Osborne. Now you don't have to spend money to realize you don't want to read my book. This works out for everybody. Best and most obviously tho, it's another excuse to have another trippy-ass Matthew Revert book cover in the world. Dude is pretty special. Just click here to get that free sampler.

And now CLICK HERE to get the new special edition issue of Crime Factory, Pink Factory - the loving tribute to smut in crime and pulp fictions/factions and culture. This Liam Jose person seems to have an unseemly fixation upon my person or just my name and I'm flattered... I guess.

Oh shit, and click here for brannew Needle with William Boyle, Heath Lowrance, Rob W. Hart, Patti Abbott,  Jen Conley, Stephen D. Rogers, Court Merrigan, Sandra Seamans, Christopher L. Irvin, Trent England, Taylor Brown, William Dylan Powell, and Tom Joyce. Check out that sweet, sweet, Touch of Evil-ish cover art by Scott Morse.

Double shit, new Thuglit looks fantastic too... Matthew McBride, Jessica Adams, Angel Luis Colón, Scott Grand, Kenneth Levine, Michael Cebula, J. David Gonzalez and Max Sheridan. Todd Robinson don't stop with the crunch and boom of jaw-breaker crime fictions.

Back to Crime Factory for a second, that Cameron Ashley person (who contributed a fairly sexually-repulsive and hilarious story to the first Noir at the Bar anthology) is back in the Western Hemisphere. He's been in Canada and the North-eastern US for a bit, but unfortunately couldn't make his way into the swampy heartland. Nah, he's too busy doing crime/comics convention panels with the likes of Darwyn Cooke and Ed Brubaker. So, I get it. No hard feelings mate.

And while we're on criminal activities in Canada, howsabout N@B-Vancouver last week with people like John McFetridge, Owen Laukkanen, Hilary Davidson, Terrence McCauley, Frank de Blase, Jill Edmonson, Andrew Pyper, Howard Shrier, Tanis Mallow and Rob Brunet. And they're not alone in taking N@B international (I know they've had events in the past), Jay Stringer recently announced N@B-Glasgow and I've heard rumors of other international locale on the way.

Jon & Ruth Jordan are hosting N@B-Milwaukee this week - so go there to see Frank Wheeler Jr., Hilary Davidson, Bryon Quertermous, Matthew Clemens and Rob Riley, or if you've been waiting for the perfect time to burgle domicile's belonging to any of the aforementioned... carpe noctem!

And on June 19th - Eryk Pruitt launches N@B-NC in Durham with Grand Jerkins, Phillip Thompson, Steve Weddle, Charles Dodd White, Peter Farris and Chad Rohrbacher - which, holy shit, that's a helluva lineup... Click here for updates. I wonder...

Hell, I think we'll go ahead and book N@B in St. Louis that night too... I wonder if Jason Stuart is available?

Stay tuned...

People going to Milwaukee will also have the dubious pleasure of being in the same room as me. That's like a Big Foot sighting. I sound full of myself. Fuck it.
